Different regions, different women
There are four main regions in Thailand, which all have their subculture, language, and different women.
These regions are:
- Northern
- Northeastern (Isan)
- Central (including Bangkok)
- Southern
Northern women
Northern women are very caring, cute, and have primarily white skin. Numerous of these women have Chinese or Laotian origin, which shows in their general appearance.
The main regions where you can find them are; Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, Lampang, Lamphun, Phayao, Nan, and Phrae. Many of them also work in Bangkok due to the higher salaries and better quality of life.
These women are the most difficult to meet since most of them don’t speak English or aren’t easy to approach for foreigners. Your best chances are in Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai.
If you want to meet a white-skinned girl who is cute and caring, you should definitely visit the North. Keep in mind that these girls have everything that Thai men want. Because of this, there’s a lot of competition, and the local guys will always have an advantage over you.
Northeastern women (Isan)
Northeastern women are sexier due to their higher cheekbones, are primarily tan-skinned, and are very outgoing. Numerous of these women have Cambodian or Southern-Laotian origin, which shows in their appearance.
You can find these women in almost every part of the country, especially in the more prominent tourist hubs and Bangkok.
Most girls you will encounter will come from; Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Buriram, Surin, Roi Et, Ubon Ratchathani, and Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat).

Numerous Bangkok women have Chinese influences and origins. Because of this, they primarily have white skin, smaller eyes, and are generally more wealthy compared to the other women in the country. Most of the Thai elite are also situated in the capital, but they are mainly off-limits for foreigners.
Southern women
Southern women are very attractive to foreigners because of their tan to dark skin that comes from having Malay or Burmese origin. They are well-known for being very outgoing and straightforward, which makes it easy to approach them.
Most of these women can be found in the south of the country but are easy to encounter in Bangkok as well. Especially women who have escaped the insurgency in the deep south of the country.
Numerous southern women are Muslim, which makes it almost impossible to approach them as a foreigner. Luckily many other southern women aren’t religious and will be happy to meet you and get to know you.

The cute girl
These are the women who will dedicate most of their time to make you feel comfortable and happy. They will be glad to do your laundry, iron your clothes, clean the dishes and satisfy almost all your needs.
These women will go above and beyond to make sure your love for them won’t fade, and because of this, they are the perfect wife material.
Most of them will be a bit submissive and will always agree with you even when you’re angry. In the long run, this emotional bubble can burst because holding your emotions for a long time isn’t a good thing to do.
You can find most of these women working as nurses, teachers, in coffee shops or toy stores.
The sexy girl
This is the femme fatale kind of girl who will always dress sexy, wear lots of makeup, and go to the gym to make sure she stays in shape.
These women know they are attractive and will have higher demands than the previously described ‘cute girls.’ They are lazier than others and spend more time doing their makeup and going to a beauty salon than doing household chores.
Most of these women work as models in the beauty or fitness industry, are marketing or real estate agents, or even working girls. Meeting these girls is terrific since they are generally more extravert and always into some fun!
The girl next door
The girl next door type of woman is someone who doesn’t belong in the previous two categories and is therefore very different.
They are the general Thai women who you can encounter everywhere you go. They can be a mix of both categories as well, from very attractive to right down ugly.
There are numerous hidden gems with women in this category since you don’t know their true personalities until dating them. This can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you see it.
Meeting and dating a girl next door type of woman can be a stimulating experience. It will give you a good perspective of how the local Thai women are.
Where to meet them?
During a walk outside
Most women who are into foreigners are easy to find, especially during the evenings. They tend to hang out in the main ex-pat areas in the city, which are:
- Sukhumvit (Soi 11, Nana, T21 Asoke)
- High-end nightclubs and rooftop bars across the city
- RCA (Rama 9/Huai Khwang)
- Khao San Road
Dating Aps
Due to the technological innovations of the 21st century, the whole dating playground has changed. Nowadays, it’s often easier to meet someone online than to meet them outside in public.
Most Thai women are using multiple dating apps and are therefore easily accessible. This also takes away some of the shyness because some of their English language skills aren’t developed yet.
The most common dating apps in Bangkok are:

White skin debate and social status
Thai women are expected to be skinny, white-skinned, and dress cutely. This is often to meet the demands of Thai men and is primarily inspired by the K-Pop industry and the consensus that having white skin means that you are wealthier compared to someone who has tan skin.
This is obviously a considerable misconception, but it is very typical in Thailand. You can see this phenomenon almost everywhere, from billboards on the highways to beauty products in supermarkets. They all consist of ingredients to make your skin look brighter.
This concept has created lots of racism and discrimination inside Thailand. Having white skin means more job opportunities, easier social acceptance, and a higher social status. You can have a 10k THB salary, but if you have white skin, your social status will be higher than someone who is tan-skinned and has a 30k THB salary.
Importance of family background
This is not the first thing you think about when meeting a Thai woman, but it is undoubtedly essential.

If she comes from a low-income family, then there can be some issues down the road. Many uneducated Thai people believe that all foreigners are wealthy. This means that having a foreign boyfriend or husband will increase the woman’s social status and her family.
Thailand doesn’t have a sound retirement system, and not everyone can or want to work until they are 80 years old. Because of this, poorer families will often demand some monthly payment to take care of them, and a foreigner can provide them with the pension of their dreams!
The buffalo is sick
Suppose you happen to meet a woman from the northeast or any other rural area of the country. ‘The buffalo is sick’ is one of the most common lies used to get money from a foreigner.
Your cute and sexy Thai girlfriend or wife will put on a show and tell you that her buffalo back home is sick and needs immediate treatment, or he will die. Since the buffalo is the key to her family’s income, he must get medical treatment. And who else can provide her with enough money to make sure he stays alive, right?
Sadly this isn’t the only lie commonly used by Thai women to get money from their boyfriends or husband; here are some more;
- My nephew needs new books for school
- I lost my job and can’t pay my rent anymore
- My mom/dad got sick and needs medical treatment
- I don’t have enough money to pay my car loan this month
- My phone is broken, and I don’t want to lose contact
- Many more
Can i date a working girl?
The short answer is: no. But from my personal experience, it isn’t that easy, especially if you’re a first-timer.
When you’re visiting Bangkok for the first time, everything will look new, beautiful, and amazing, including the women.
Bangkok is well-known for its vibrant nightlife, infamous red-light districts, and the working girls on the streets. The entertainment industry attracts millions of customers each year and is, therefore, a tourist hotspot.
Be aware that most working girls are highly skilled in attracting foreigners and getting as much money from them as possible. They will seem cute, and sexy and will do whatever you want. But in the end, they will still be a working girl.
A common phrase is ‘You can get the girl outside of the bar, but you can’t get the bar outside of the girl.’ Keep this in mind when you’re dating a Thai working woman.
